Excellent post. I know people have been poo-pooing Roy in the past (Permit gathering dust...etc...) But I think he raises some really good points.

Just how in touch is the outside new media? It sounds like this story is originating from a single source and then replayed over and over again.

We also know the outside media is hostle towards Vz and Chavez. When RML took over HCL it was done via proper channels. When the oil fields were reclaimed a hand was extended to reach agreements. When Sidor was nationalized, payments were made... the story goes on and on.

To think that Vz would turn its back on KRY at this point is hard to believe. KRY has a plan in place. It has machinery ready to go. All levels of government are supportive.

The only troubling point is the memorandum of understanding. In Roy's context it could mean RML would be entitled to mines in the Las Cristinas area (not KRY's or GRZ's holdings).

Other wording in the new releases made it sound pretty clear that it was indeed KRY's and GRZ's holdings...
