That the major shareholder in Rusoro, Goldfields may not want to get involved in another "deal" in Venezuela?

Every newshound in the western world is mindlessly parroting Hugo's and Sanz's assertion that Rusoro is a Russian company, something every one of those so called reporters could easily verify is patently untrue if they did a monicum of DD.

It is a Canadian listed company and the majority holder of Rusoro shares is Goldfields by a very large margin. GFI only got that RML holding by default because RML didn't have cash to buy them out and GFI needed to get rid of their problems at the Choco 10 mine caused by the Venezuelan government's peverse activity in regards to permits.

If I recall correctly Goldfields stated at the time that they were glad to get rid of the Venezuelan properties and so I assume that the Rusoro deal was the best they could get for them.

I would doubt that they would willingly go back into a major project with Hugo and his band of incompetants still in charge of the country. Sure the minority Russian shareholders may be keen, but do they have the votes and the money to get a deal done. It seems to me that GFI would need to be bought out, or offered a very big sweetener to get them back into a major project in Venezuela.

Now Peter Hambro has a small finger in the pie, but he is actually based in the UK even though he operates in Russia. To bring LC and LB into production from this point without the assistance of the current operators KRY and GRZ, would require at least a billion USD in investment. Considering the history, most banks today wouldn't consider lending a cent on a project like this, so the sources of funding available are more limited than they otherwise would be.

And Sanz wants to see gold from these projects next year.. He is dreaming!
