Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
I am a new member here, although I have been following discussions since mid summer. I have been trading in KRY for several years, making money along the way. However, I ended up owning over 50,000 near the top of the share price. I have since bought more at around 1.10.
I have a few comments. I have watched things closely since 2004, but with the insights of this forum.
What I see, and what seems logical, ( although that means ziltch) is that there isn't a way to start mining LC in 2009, even if the operator is KRY. Sooo, there is no way that any other company/partner with VZ could do it in 2009. In fact as many have mentioned, it would take $100's of mils and years to gather the info and the equipment, much less put it together. One would assume KRY has their years of data back in the states under armed guard!! As far as all the official and unofficial comments by politicians and news agencies, nothing can be depended on. Only the word from the company will tell us truly.
About Rusoro. I did some DD on the company, and here is what I could glean from all the reports on the web.
Yes, Rusoro's main investors are the very well connected Russian family, and many insiders, who together have contolling interest. However, as many point out, this is a Canadian company. Again tho', having said THAT, the family has very close ties to Putin, and to Chavez, and own mines in Russia big time. So there is undoubtedly reasons why Rusoro would be getting preferential treatment, and there are reasons why they would want to tow the "party line' so to speak. With VZ wanting desperately to continue and escalate the arms deals with Putin, helping a rich croney friend of his would go along way. However, unless there is some very large golden goose out there laying big time, there just isn't the money, the equipment, or the time for Rusoro to get LC up and running before 2011. If Chavez really is desperate to start getting more gold money coming in, I can't for the life of me see any way to do it other than having KRY with all their data, there equipment, and there knowledge and expertise go forward.
Maybe there has been a lot of pressure for KRY to sell out at a 'reasonable' price, so that Rusoro would just take their place, and be able to start putting things together in 2009.
I will point out that VZ has never simply nationalized a company. They have for the most part given fair value. Fair value for KRY would be way up there, which no one would want to pay.
So, there's my take and introductory submission to all of you.
