The National Electoral Council rejected the opening of an administrative investigation against the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez Frías, for violation of the rules of Publicity and Propaganda.
The guiding principal and chairman of the Committee on Political Participation and Financing of the agency, Vicente Diaz, provided the information at the end of the session completed on Tuesday to discuss the guiding complaints by allegedly violating the electoral law.
He said that the meeting discussed 63 cases, of which 47 were approved and 13 disapproved, adding that in total the commission had 121 cases.
He indicated that the electoral body approved the initiation of proceedings against the candidate for governor of Zulia state by the party A New Time (UNT), Pablo Perez, for violating Article 69 of the electoral law.
The directory also decided the opening of six cases against Eduardo Morales Gil, candidate for governor of Sucre state by the AD party, Copei, and we Bandera Roja.
The list also included as the investigation aspsirantes opponents, William Davila for governor of Merida state, Robert Smith, governor of Vargas State, as well as Ramon Muchacho, candidate for mayor of Chacao in the state of Miranda, among others.
