La opposition gaining ground in the Venezuelan electoral map
Less than two weeks in the regional elections of November 23 in Venezuela, the electoral map is showing a decided advance of dissidents and opposition sectors to control governors and mayors in the hands of Chavez supporters.
This is a sign that the political reality in the South American country will be more complex and diverse culminate when the votes.
The government of President Hugo Chávez still has key regions and a significant level of popularity, but hegemony Chavez could be weakened in the elections, according to polls and independent experts consulted by El Nuevo Herald.
The parties that oppose the government of President Chavez have been agreements unit in about 90 percent of the nominations of governors and mayors, and states could obtain more than expected.
It is estimated that the opposition could get between eight and 12 governorships, and a substantial majority of more than half of the 330 mayors involved.
