While googling news I recently found an article in the Miami Herald that quoted a 47 yr old construction worker who voted early this morning that the turnout was massive but very peaceful with many apparently for the opposition.

The results you posted seem to show that if it weren't for fractured opposition, the opposition would make some hefty wins. This substantiates that old saying: you can fool some of the people some of the time, but not all, all the time. Chavez probably forgot that last part in his meglomaniacal spending sprees with disappearing oil revenues.
