Carmen Cedeño, wife of Carlos Chancellor, elect mayor of Sifontes, assumed yesterday temporarily the municipality, awaiting which the elect mayor recovers the freedom. The ex- mayoress, Marlene Vargas, did not accept to give the Mayorship formally.

Carmen Cedeño is now the one in charge of the municipality of Sifontes

Cedeño, that was town councillor, will be now in charge temporarily of the municipality. Ovacionada yesterday by the followers of its pair, that loaded until it in arms once it left soothes the Mayorship to speak on the act of hand over of command.

On the other hand the ex- mayoress Vargas, militant of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), did not give the municipality formally and declared that the act was irregular by certain legal inconsistencias, that she was not going to guarantee.

“This is a blow to the Venezuelan laws. Nevertheless, I want to leave my condition for giving the Mayorship of legal way and this it is a null and void act from all point of view, which I cannot confirm because it would comprise of an illegal fact that Carmonazo', has been only seen in the Sifontes municipality… is being committed `here is like a blow but to the laws, I do not confirm no of those acts”.

Other people's pain
On the other hand, Carmen Cedeño expressed that “it gives a little pity to see how she said that she was going to give and she is not going it to do, because the act is for illegal her; I mean to him that the truth is that Carlos Chancellor is the mayor and that is not going it to cover with anything, to the town is necessary to respect it. The town decided and I do not understand why it takes that position, equal we are going to retake the tranquillity. This lady always has irrespetado to the population of Sifontes and for that reason she is that they said to him that went away, that did not want it”.

It added that Vargas “never acted become attached to the laws, embezzled the resources public, the resources that they gave him for the benefit of the town, and in fact as I often denounced it to town councillor, and first which we are going to do it is to see what let in the municipality to make an audit”.

On the other hand, in the outskirts of the Mayorship, followers of the PSUV waited for the exit of Marlene Vargas, who gathered his “cachachá” and left with triumphal face assuring that the party is “more united than ever” and it did not see by any side the eight thousand votes that Chancellor removed in the elections of the 23 of November. In addition it commented that to members of the municipal electoral meeting supposedly they are naming “them like directors” in the Mayorship, which demonstrates - in to his opinion the irregularity that has come denouncing since the elections took place.

In spite of this now the temporary mayoress was acclaimed when leaving the Mayorship like the appendix executor of Carlos Chancellor. After being risen in arms by the followers of the party Patria Para Todos (PPT) Cedeño she took the microphone to ask by the freedom of his husband, who will govern “with and for people”. While, the pro-government officials watched with serious faces the act that was being developed to little meters of them.

The Army and the Police of the state Bolívar (PEB) guarded the area to avoid confrontations, but no of sides was caused like getting to attack itself or in any case to generate disturbances. Luckyly each sector remained in its place, without bothering to the other.

Christmas present

For many the fact that Carlos Chancellor is imprisoned to support a mining manifestation, among other things, it is a punishment more politician than legal, for that reason good part of the town of Sifontes asks to the authorities leave that it in freedom while it is judged, so that therefore the municipality has the mayor who chose and her family can pass happy celebrations.
