A financial rescue plan to be implemented from 2009 in the recovery of businesses in Guyana, will present the Ministry of Basic Industry and Mining under consideration by the Government before the end of the year.
The schedule was revised yesterday at the ministry headquarters in Caracas, during a meeting chaired by the head of the office, Rodolfo Sanz, which participated in the directory of the Corporation Venezolana de Guayana.
One source of CVG said the approved plan includes the payment of debts and the adequacy of technology companies in the aluminum, affected by the obsolescence of equipment and infrastructure.
The problem of aluminum crisis did in the second half of this year, after which Bauxilum, which supplies raw materials to Alcasa and Venalum, was paralyzed by its workers due to the accumulation of labor liabilities and debts to contractors and suppliers.
The allocation of resources needed for the adjustment of the sector, which has to face in 2009 the fall in the price of aluminum, requires the approval of the National Assembly, which works on the topic through the Commission of Basic and Mining Companies. The investment required, according to the Commission, reaching 4 billion dollars.
This amount is in addition to $ 900 million that will go to the Sidor to finance an expansion of activities, which will take annual production to 7 million tons of crude steel.
Management renewed. In the Official Gazette number 39,082, which circulated yesterday, were issued 86 resolutions by which the chairman of the Corporation Venezolana de Guayana, Rodolfo Sanz, ordered removal, replacement and appointments throughout the management structure of the CVG and businesses protected.
Among the nominations in the CVG are those of Juan Jose Mendez Moncada, general manager of infrastructure; Yurany Godoy Rangel, general manager of Network Production, Lina Maria Guzman Ferrer, general manager, in charge of Social Development TEPEDINO Javier, managing director in charge of Tenders and Contracts; Raul Antonio Salazar, manager of Finance; Marlize Soledad Guerrero Camacho, manager of Human Resources; Germain Zuleica Mendez Rivas, manager of Community Development, and Nathaly Avariano Silva, manager of Social Economy.
The chairmanships of companies will be occupied by Cesar Aguilar (Alcasa), Juan Jose Mendez (Carbonorca), Carlos Acosta Perez (Bauxilum) and Luis Herrera Ramon Mendoza (Minerven).
