Economic events of last few weeks have set Chavez on a path less authoritarian and more agreeable to try and solve all the pending issues.
Maybe when Kry turn comes around we will be able to add the final ward to the saga and either agree to a decent cash settlement or receive the long awaited permit .
Whatever happens ,i am sure that it will find us must agreeable.
Here is a sample of the changed attitude of the Venezuelan politicians.
Chavez moderates tone in nationalization talks
Aug, 27 2008
Venezuela started a second round of talks with Cemex SAB over compensation for the nationalization of its local unit, a week after the government expropriated the company's assets, vice-president Ramon Carrizalez said.
He said the first part of the talks will focus on transferring control of the Cemex unit to a local transitional authority.
"Our disposition is to reach a harmonious agreement," Carrizalez said. "We don't rule out appealing to other jurisdictions if necessary."
Cemex said it would seek arbitration and called the expropriation a violation of the law. President Hugo Chavez, who last week accused the company of harming the environment and failing to invest by focusing only on profit, softened his tone over the weekend, saying he wanted to reach a "friendly" agreement. Carrizalez said the government doesn't rule out a joint venture with Cemex.
