Argentine President Cristina Fernandez delayed her trip to Cuba and Venezuela by one week due to illness, a foreign ministry official told Reuters on Friday.
Fernandez had to cancel all of her activities on Thursday and Friday after feeling faint and suffering from slight dehydration related to high summer temperatures in Buenos Aires, according to a medical report released on Thursday.
The center-left leader had planned to leave for Cuba on Saturday but she will leave a week later instead.
She will make a visit to Caracas starting on Jan. 21, the foreign ministry source said, confirming a report by state news agency Telam.
Ties between Argentina and leftist-governed Venezuela have been tight over the last five years.
Fernandez also aims to reach out to Cuban President Raul Castro, who has led the communist-run nation since his brother Fidel Castro was sidelined by illness in 2006.
