They reinforce measures to guarantee conservation of the Great Savannah

By instructions of the governor of the state Bolivar, Francisco Rangel Go'mez, 1540 of 5 date June of 1991 began the process of conformation of the interinstitutional commissions that will work in the reformulation of the effective legal frame of the “Plan of Ordering and Regulation of Use” of the National Park Canaima, established in the decree.

The measurement was established, after the damage caused in some zones of Grana Savannah, by visitors who approached the place during the season of December 2008 and January of 2009; and as soon as Forest civil servants of the regional Executive, Inparques, Firemen, Guardaparques, cash of the National Guard and to 5 (who gave logistical support), realised the respective diagnosis by the western and Eastern sector of the National Park Canaima to verify the great sweepings accumulation and the damage caused, mainly, in the penetration routes towards the sector “Toroncito” of the Great Savannah.

“Lamentably people who say to practice the ecological tourism, but that makes bad use of the rustic vehicles, practice fangueros resentments and they do not respect the norms of use of the National Park Canaima, caused serious damages to fragile ecosystems located in the Eastern sector of the park”, expressed the Chief of a main directorate Adjunto of the National Institute of Parks (Inparques), Jose Montenegro, who was present in the routes and the meetings of work conducted with civil servants of the Secretariat of Tourism and Atmosphere of the regional Executive.

In this sense, the Secretary of Tourism and Atmosphere, Ricardo Aquino, emphasized that these actions are framed within the Canaima Plan, giving continuity to the Agenda of Harmonic and Viable Development that the governor of the state executes Bolivar, Francisco Rangel Go'mez to fortify the tourist activity, like basic industry “without chimney” in the region.

By such reason, Ricardo Aquino declared that as a result of the diagnosis and of the meetings that have been realised, it was determined to give legal form to the Canaima Plan, by means of a decree of the regional Executive to fortify the actions to undertake.

On the other hand, the Chief of a main directorate Adjunto of the National Institute of Parks (Inparques) emphasized that in the commissions “we are going to participate several institutions like Inparques, Interior of the state Bolivar, Edelca, Seniat, Universities, among others, in order to study physical-natural, socioeconomic, logistic and educative the aspects of the Canaima Plan”.

At the same time he warned on the possibility of closing some sectors of the National Park Canaima and of establishing plans of monitoring and control in the high seasons, to object to prohibit the use of rustic vehicles in specific sectors of the Great Savannah.

In the same way and within the framework of this procedure, he emphasized that they will be qualified diverse alcabalas and installed visit modules to previously instruct the tourist, on the norms of behavior and conservation of the areas that conform the National Park Canaima. He presses Interior
