Venezuela's President Chavez To Write Newspaper Column
CARACAS -(Dow Jones)- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who regularly spends hours at a time on national television, will start this week writing a newspaper column that will be published on several dailies around the country.
The column, which will be titled "Chavez's Lines," a Spanish play on words to suggest his political directives, will "contribute to the battle of ideas," the president said in comments broadcast Tuesday by state television. The column will be published every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.
Chavez is now in the middle of an electoral campaign to eliminate term limits, which would allow him to run for reelection in 2012. The nationwide referendum is slated for Feb. 15.
