The three union organizations of just conformed mining industry, Venrus a.c., company of mixed capital in which the Venezuelan State owns 50% of the shareholding package and the other 50% are property of the Russian partnership Agapov, decided to conform a union alliance with the aim of presenting/displaying a unique collective contract project that will shelter to all the workers of the mining deposits of the south of the state Bolivar.

This decision dates the past from 14 from November of 2008, after the expropriation of the industry to the North American transnational company Mining Venezuelan Hecla, by presumed and constant violations towards the rights of the workers.

Exaviel Alexander, Secretary General of the Unique Union of Revolutionary of the Industry of Gold, Diamond, Kaolin, Quartz, Connected and Similar Workers (Sutriodics), assured that the conquest of the benefits of the mining working mass will start up without no union protagonism.

It emphasized that, besides Sutriodics, the other two associations that conform the unit are the Unique Union of Professionals and Technicians of the company the Pebble Gold Mining (Suptecmining) and the Union of Workers of the company the Pebble Gold Mining (Sintracallao).

It indicated that, independent of the approval of a unique collective contract, each grouping will be independent in anyone of its behavior, respecting the working dignity of the miners.

Alexander showed that the collective convention lodges 100 clauses that they safeguard to more than 600 workers in the socioeconomic scope, whom have deposited their confidence in these formed into a guild for the fight for their benefits.

Alexander assured in the next days will be emitting the act agreement in the Inspectoría of the Work of Guasipati before the existence of a solid collective contract proposal.

“We assumed this roll to avoid traumas that can be reflected enters the workers”, it declared.

Struggles entail to the wearing down

The unification of the three union houses had to that together the conquest of majors would be easier benefits, besides staying remote of the constant and common complaints between the same organizations of a company.

“The struggles have left fruits neither for the workers, train nor between the unions”, asserted the General Manager of Sutriodics.

Also, it considered that the union alignment and the search of a same objective will avoid that anyone of its members is turned aside of its functions to go in favor of the interests of the industralists.

On the other hand the secretary of organization of Sutriodics, Alí Holder, said that “a fight” for the labor vindications does not mean that “our intention is the one to fracture to the company, but our work will become through a work of brings back to consciousness”.

It emphasized on the administrative and legal delay for the conformation of the mixed company.

In such sense it exhorted to minister of Basic Industries and Minería, Rodolfo Sanz, so that “it makes the managements pertinent to accelerate the definitive restoration of the company Venrus a.c.”. GH
