Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and his Iranian counterpart are to meet in Caracas to discuss the creation of a joint mining company.
Chavez, who arrived in Tehran on Thursday for a four-day visit, said on Friday that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be visiting Venezuela sometime next month to finalize the deal.
"We agreed yesterday that the Iranian president will come to Venezuela in May to give an impetus to bilateral relations," Chavez told local TV in a telephone interview from the Iranian mega capital.
The joint company will produce up to six minerals, the president added.
Chavez a vocal critic of the global capitalistic system, is scheduled to leave Tehran for Tokyo to hold talks with Japanese officials.
On Friday, Iran and Venezuela inaugurated their first joint bank with an initial capital of $200 million to finance joint development, economic, industrial and mining projects. The capital will be raised to $1.2 trillion.
Iranian oil company, Petropars is also to develop a new oil field in Venezuela, Iran's oil Minster, Gholam-Hossein Nozari said after meeting Venezuelan Energy Minister Rafael Ramirez on Friday.
