Venezuelan police are holding the ex-president of a state-run bank on corruption-related charges after the bank reported nearly $90 million in losses.
Luis Quiaro, former head of Caracas-based Banco Industrial de Venezuela, was detained Tuesday after a court issued an arrest warrant.
Quiaro was put under investigation for alleged corruption after the bank reported it had lost $88.6 million since 2007.
The government appointed a temporary board of directors last week to evaluate its financial situation.
Venezuela's Justice Ministry said the case reflects its "unbreakable will and firm resolution" to fight corruption. / make you want to rotflyao
