Halliburton gets assurance from Venezuela

Halliburton Co., the world's second-largest oilfield-services provider, said it was assured by the government of Venezuela that its net investment of about $265 million US in the country isn't subject to nationalization under recent legislation.

"Venezuelan government officials have stated this recent legislation is not applicable to our company," Houston-based Halliburton said Friday in a public filing.
