Wednesday, 12 August 2009

Workers, labor union leaders and managers are unaware of the future of employees who have, on average, more than 15 years to grow up watching the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG). Questioned whether the decisions are taken behind closed doors and without the formal presentation of the social Guiana 2019, which lays the foundations of the Aluminum Corporation and Iron and Steel.

The high production costs and other operational failures in the aluminum industry can not benefit from the gradual improvement in metal prices.

Assembly convened for August 13 at 8:00 am
The official site of the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG) is not updated. Of these 15 companies have said that these 18 thousand employees and now retains only a quarter of the responsibility conferred by the National Executive in 1960.

Saturday afternoon last president Hugo Chávez term "alleviate" the burden of CVG with the creation of the Corporation of Iron and Aluminum, under the recipe for a social plan Guiana 2019 has not been officially presented and that according workers outside the PSUV has managed-in camera.

Of all those ads that keep workers from CVG is headquartered uncertainty. No meetings have been called to discuss, do not know what will happen to their powers, much less labor liabilities.

Tuesday labor leaders and the Single National Union of Public Employees (Sunep-CVG) defended the mission of the corporation and demanded the presence of Minister Sanz.

Cecilio Pineda and Hugo Fernandez, working as directors and deputies, Juan Gomez-later with the rest of the executive committee of CVG-Sunep Sanz urged to clarify what will happen to workers CVG parent? Who will answer for the liabilities of workers? What hands lie the development of Guyana ", among other issues on which, they say they have no answer.

You do, you do not
Principals reported that labor leaders have been absent most of its functions to communicate what happens within the CVG. Non-participation of workers, coupled with the decision-making inconsulta, has created an atmosphere of uncertainty bordering on despair.

"We have been completely ignored, we do not know if that was the plan supposedly was approved in CVG Ferrominera, if so, this is a plan where there is no self, and where some workers have signed the detriment of themselves," said Fernández.

All these workers are wondering what will be the role of CVG, consider the creation of these corporations is to cover the basic bankruptcy of enterprises in the hands of poor management that has no presence in the area.

"We are in bankruptcy," said labor and managers attribute the situation to a management that has managed the corporation away from the region.

Sadness!
Another group of workers said that, paradoxically, since the infrastructure is repaired. These busy corridors in the past were fertile spaces for the discussion of Guyana today looks desolate and silent. There, the general secretary of the employees union asserts the existence of a terrorist workforce restricts a forceful expression.

Gomez once again repeated that they will not tolerate abuse more than a patron-state, which must leave them, profits, wage increases and interest benefits that were paid-reluctantly-to the workers in the aluminum industry.

Ramon Gomez, representative of Sunep, asserts that the CVG will be future 'pa' time 'since there lie many projects unfinished for lack of capital. Defended by the corporation that built it was an example of city planning.

The union leader said that knowing the fate of more than 3 thousand jobs and convened a meeting to be held on Thursday August 13 at 8:00 in the morning to discuss the fate of the CVG.

Uncertain Future

Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG) was founded in 1960 as a decentralized institution, with the challenge to build "safe and sustainable water resources, forestry, iron, bauxite, gold, diamonds and other minerals in the region and unique natural beauty, to promote national development based on economic diversification, and based on a policy of strategic alliances with public and private capital, domestic and foreign.

Although the "dismantling" of the corporation has been slow but steady, the authorities of this institution has denied that fragmentation affects the stability of the CVG.

At the April 4 edition of Correo del Caroni 2009, the General Manager of Administration and Finance of the CVG-Lina Marcano-described as a "media" between the financial situation of the development and said that the CVG will continue to this axis and economic development in the region since it has the resources needed to honor his work and social commitments.
