Clavel A. Rangel Jimenez

¡Cevegistas united, will never be defeated! shouted the workers of the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG) from the offices of the administrative building demanding the labor liabilities and the fate of the institution.

Slogans generated a complete revolution in the building where gesta-brewing-or planning of Ciudad Guayana. The employees who had remained silent during this year, finally decided Arreciado in action, confident that no longer have anything to lose, but employment.

While a group of 80 workers decided to stand up from their jobs and shouting, another just peeked in his office complaining rumors and silent.

But their spirits were exalted in the so-called head office and more employees were then incorporated into an assembly which served, among other things for reconciliation with the Single National Union of Public Employees (Sunep-CVG).

The concentration was transferred to the floor 6 of the administrative building for the sake of talking with the manager of Human Resources, Marlice Guerrero, who denied the opportunity for dialogue and a timely response to their demands.

What will happen to the corporation? Where are the reclassification? Why do not they canceled the interests of social benefits? When they canceled the loan?, Among other claims, ask.

¡He fled from the right!

From 9:00 am to 4:30 pm were waiting for the Office of Finance out of the manager of Human Resources. During this period the number of visits were concerned that, as interpreted, had the task scare.

Mid-morning, for example, was present Gladis Gonzalez, who identified himself as "third notary public of San Felix," and explained that he sought to record those present and their requirements.

Workers immediately repudiated the presence of the officer and left it there. Singing the National Anthem, with slogans, megaphones and even their children walked through the building until you are cornered in the 6 floor, where the National Guard did not raise more workers.

There was no way that Guerrero would face no explanation offered to its employees who handle over six hours to push an answer: he went slips under the door, he spoke in the tones of the megaphone but nothing got the manager to report on the employment situation.

The National Guard was guarding early installations, including an official of the Fire Department had access to the alleged one of the hypertension in the office.

While all this was happening some place left without any answers. The demonstrators prevented entry to the premises by force, but rather waited voluntary departure of the official, but it never came, until 4 and half in the afternoon when the National Guard got escorted to the manager.

Questions and more questions

Juan Gomez, secretary general of Sunep said: "We want to know what will happen to the corporation, we want to know what will happen to our labor liabilities, stay, we will be in permanent assembly until we have an answer."

The worker Lezama Wilfredo Gomez supported the approach and said it had no information of any plans which relate to the Government on the fate of the corporation.

Deputy Angel Marcano, president of the Business Committee of the NA core, Correo del Caroni told last Thursday that the possibility exists that CVG parent will become part of the Ministry of Planning and Development, is also rumored to be offered a package of "attractive" for the workers but none of this has been confirmed.

When you visualized and proposes two new corporations based on the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana powers are undermined by it.

Lezama said that all units have a closed budget. "We are working with the dynamics of each unit without incurring any cost, but the corporation loses credibility when institutional commitments established in meetings with other institutions, knowing that they can not honor."

"There is no budget for travel costs, no transportation, so they say that in addition to our call for the opening budget liabilities, because they can not work without a budget units (...) We face daily in our communities, we do not understand how we are not responding to us. "

Concentrates in the management of finance workers described the hardships placed on a platter their years of service and advocates said the corporation was founded in 1960, as a planner and promoter of development in Ciudad Guayana.

"We just want to give us his face," "Enough of abuse and intimidation" and said even the professional managers of other units. All these slogans echoed just this Thursday, because nobody came to his face.

While waiting outside the human resources manager, Guerrero requested the hearing with a representative of the employees but they refused. Also the minister Rodolfo Sanz-president of the CVG-agreed that the employee representative to meet with him, but the workers did not accept closed-door meetings.

At 5:00 pm the affected assembly decided to continue the stoppage of activities this Friday in a rally starting at the administration building since early morning and with the support of the union leadership's aluminum sector .

Gomez reported that it is asking workers in Caracas, Ciudad Bolivar and other offices of the southern state to join the protest by the payment of interest benefits and the fate of the CVG.

Minister Sanz: The most wanted

Rodolfo Sanz, president of the Corporación Venezolana de Guayana (CVG), the Ministry of Basic Industries and Mining (Mibam), chairman of the Siderurgica del Orinoco (Sidor) and now in charge of the transition briqueteras businesses in Ciudad Guayana, each days is most demanded by the workers who rely solely on signature for specified benefits and improvements to working conditions.

Wednesday afternoon were the engineers driving the payroll Sidor who chased the minister for the sake of getting this answer given by its benefits, without response.

Access to these officials is becoming more restricted, it is almost a unanimous request the presence of the Minister on matters that fall within the core business of Ciudad Guayana.
