The company has entered into an agreement with Protalix to commercialize taliglucerase alfa, a plant-cell expressed form of glucocerebrosidase in development for the potential treatment of Gaucher's disease. Under the agreement, Pfizer will receive exclusive worldwide licensing rights for the commercialization of taliglucerase alfa, with Protalix retaining exclusive commercialization rights in Israel. Taliglucerase alfa is the first enzyme replacement therapy derived from a proprietary plant cell-based expression platform using genetically engineered carrot cells.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. (NYSE: LVS), $16.09, +0.77, 5.03%, is making gains today, reaching a high of 16.16. LVS announced that due to its fundraising activities it raised approximately $5 billion of combined debt and equity financing. One of its subsidiaries, Sands China Ltd., was listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong after completing an initial public offering raising a total of $3.1 billion. LVS owns and operates resorts and casinos worldwide.

Barrick Gold Corporation (TSX: ABX), $48.44, +3.58, 7.98%, is seeing a share price increase of over $3, reaching a high of $48.51. The company announced the completion of elimination of all of its Gold Hedges and now has complete leverage to the gold price on the industry's largest gold production and reserves. Aaron Regent, Barrick's President and CEO commented on the Gold Hedges stating "With their elimination we no longer have any gold price related mark-to-market exposure and will now fully benefit from increases in the gold price," Barrick Gold is a gold industry leader with projects across five continents.

Crystallex International Corporation (AMEX: KRY), $0.384, +0.104, 36.96%, is active today trading in between its high of 0.40 and low of 0.3, with 3.1 million shares traded so far today compared to yesterday's close of 2.7 million.
