I do not understand how demonstrating the ability to survive hurts any negotiations or our standing in any way. That is of course unless we do not have the ability to survive. Time for management to step up and address the issue with clarity imo.

Agreed Midas. For the sake of discussion, I'll throw a rose coloured glasses, machiavellian scenario out there to justify management's lack of communication. Suppose management has arrived at the terms of a deal that is being witheld pending the green light from Chavez. Suppose it is in management's best interests (given their dirt cheap options and the need to get a deal done) to keep the shareprice low so that when the proposed deal is announced, shareholders will eagerly accept it just to make the pain go away.
