The NGO Journalists for Truth delivered a paper at the Canadian Embassy in Venezuela explaining the legal grounds on which the International RCTV went off the air. Representatives of the organization held a meeting with the Ambassador, Perry Calderwood, commissioned by Canada to the country.

Marcos Hernandez, president of the organization noted that the National Government should review the performance of Calderwood ambassador, accusing him of having a biased view of the process led by President Hugo Chávez.

"It is regrettable that the Canadian Ambassador to Venezuela (...) has a very short overview of the process of change that is occurring here in Venezuela. We believe that the Venezuelan government should check whether the ambassador, "he said.

He said the Canadian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of the Americas, Peter Kent, traveled to Venezuela to review the situation in the country.During his visit he met with media and organizations conducting studies on Venezuela.

"We believe he was influenced by these means and by these NGOs. Beyond this we found an ambassador who is totally biased and has the same vision of the Venezuelan opposition, "he said.
