CNBC's Sportz Biz business reporter Darren Rovell is reporting via Twitter that Tiger Woods "will make a public statement Friday at 11 a.m. ET."
"There will be no question and answer session," Rovell says.

Update at 2:55 p.m. ET: Rovell quotes Tiger's agent Mark Steinberg as saying: "Tiger will make a public statement to begin to make amends."
Update at 3 p.m. ET: The PGA Tour says on its website that Woods will make his statement at PGA Tour headquarters.
