Crystallex International Corporation is a Canadian-based gold company with a successful record of developing and operating gold mines in Venezuela and elsewhere in South America
First let me say that there has been some excellent posts the last two days. I missed yesterday, and this morning, as the powere went out due to some pretty wicked winds. I also missed the last period of the Canucks and Avalanche game. It was 2-2 after 2.
Something that I had mentioned months back, was that when my Sis mentioned being involved with KRY, to one of our cousins in TO, and told her that it was Robert Fung who was in charge, her reaction was 'Robert's involved with KRY?? Wow'...I worked on the Toronto Waterfront Revitalization with him.'! She described him as very very nice, highly respected, did an amazing job there, and can be very stubborn once he decides on something. She also said that he is very trusted, and easy to get along with...no pretensions.
By the way EZ, my cousins family used to live right on the lake in Oakville. As a kid, I visited there regularly.
Some thoughts on the 'strategic investor' thread. I was wondering if maybe this entities role is just as a stopgap measure. He/she/it can be paid back at .20 per share, which would be 12,500,000 shares. That will be a very tidy profit to say the least, if the sp even just goes to a buck... $12,500,000 ?....and if it went to $5? ...oh my god, that's like $62,500,000 (I think). Plus the 6% interest. No need to get into being a JV partner. That leaves the way for China or Russia to come in as the partner with Crystallex, together forming a 50/50 company to JV with VZ.
Chavez and Cronies really want to get this gold mining started, as they are not only making promises to use gold production to pay back loan money, they also have stated that VZ wants gold mining to become the second largest income earner, behind oil. Fung might be in a somewhat stronger position than previously. I highly doubt any entity would get involved in LC, if VZ reneged on the MOC. Now that there seems to be some sense of urgency to get the gold ball rolling, there's no time to dick around, trying to convince a country or company that their MOC would never be reneged on. Their investment would be safe!....yeh, sure.
Together with the change in tone we've heard the last week or so, I feel better than I have for a while about this. My 'half full glass' was starting look a bit skinny.....must of been evaporation... ;)
