Have you, or your sister seen the gold? I'll bet not. After all the financial scams we've had in the last few years, you actually trust a certificate.

Of course we haven't seen the gold...it's a certificate. Because of exactly what you said re converting into physical gold with a certificate, I want her to actually have a firm grasp on the gold. Hence my question.

I know the problem with certificates, but the cash was in her RRSP account....couldn't take it out to buy gold and stash it under the mattress...so I will tell her to contact Royal Bank. There should be a way.
