I wrote awhile back that my cousing in Ontario had worked with Robert Fung on the Toronto Waterfront Revitilization....I sent her an e-mail a couple weeks ago..asking her opinion re his 'honor' with regards to shareholders. here is her response.

"Yes I do know Bob Fung and had the opportunity to work with him while I was a civil servant with the Province. I have a lot of respect for him and I would trust him most definitely. There is no way he would ruin his reputation by leaving his share holders high and dry as you say.

Having said that, he is quite wealthy and I can imagine that he might start a venture knowing that it will take years before it comes to fruition. So, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a long time - not sure how it was presented to you. The other factor that he wouldn't have any control over is undertaking a private investment in socialist Venezuela - I would think it makes for very uncomfortable negotiations but what do I know."
