A very good friend of mines Uncle died last Thursday. He was one hundred years old. His name was John Finn and he was the last of the Medal Of Honor winners from from the attack on Pearl Harbor. A moment of silent reflection and a prayer for his passage is a small payment for those that have done and given so much to ensure our freedoms.

My father was from that generation of men and he never said much to me about his experiences during the time leading up to the war and the time he spent in combat. We buried him a couple of years ago and the Navy provided a chaplain to speak at his memorial service. The Chaplain researches the records and will present them at the eulogy. It was an eye opening experience for me. Thirty four Bronze Stars amongst other decorations and accomplishments the he never mentioned to me.
I am proud to fly his flag today. It is the one that draped his coffin.
