"Unless I'm missing something this means the new cost and resource estimate will be done before closing and probably our vote. We will not be talking about 16.9 million ounces at $550. We will be dealing with a number around 25 million at a price over $1000 an ounce."
I have a feeling the numbers will be higher than Jimmi mentions above. The 25m oz. recoverable was based on a gold price of around $700-$750/oz. It seems to me that with gold at least 35% higher in price we should see in excess of 30m oz.
While on the same topic would it not make Las Brisas more attractive as well despite the lower gold concentrations to begin with? We know that Las Brisas is a different geological formation, etc. However with the kind of money the Chinese have to throw around who's to say that (wild stretch here!) perhaps the Vz. gov't might not throw Las Brisas in the deal with the understanding it would also be developed as a joint/parallel project?
