EZ,
Hear you loud and clear, but when you're starting from (almost) scratch, and there's little to nothing to insure against, the only thing to look for is best bang for the buck. I don't have a lot of savings to invest; hopefully I'll have a lot more in a couple years and then I'll be buying bullion. Heck, maybe we'll be back on a gold standard (yeah, right) by then. I, like you, don't buy into diversifying, and haven't really done much of that previously. I don't mind high risk and therefore tend to put my eggs in one or only a few baskets. I know, high risk, but that's how big money is made (at least big in terms of an individual retail investor like me).
