IMO, change at the top won't make much difference to our little paatch of the country, at least not right away. Things like graft and personal greed are too closely interwoven in the fabric of government.
I think that perhaps a new government that is sympathetic to the US might not be any keener in having KRY mine LC.
For me, to vote "no" on the hope that Hughie gets his arse kicked later on is too big a risk.
And anyway, the Chinese demand for raw materials is not going away soon, so ultimately, that's who's going to control the development of places like Vennie.
Just read a newspaper article in the British Daily Mail, in which the reporter blamed the Chinese demand for hiking prices in base metals ssufficiently high to encourage theft of copper wires, lead, manhole covers, etc. throughout England. He ended the article with a plea for more nuclear stations so that the lights are still on in 25 years, in a new, Peking-dominated world.
