every election hugo hands out toasters...i saw a picture of a hut in guayana the other day that looked like one of the ones below (but smaller and not as modern)...it had a set of brand new solar panels on top that were being given out to the area as part of a "go green" campaign...my guess is that the solar panels are being given out to reduce demand on electric which they are having big trouble with...

but it made me wonder...what the hell do you need electric for if you live in a mud hut? your 60" flat screen TV?
