Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez to report on reached agreements

Upon his arrival on Sunday at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, President Chávez reiterated that all the agreements signed during his tour of Africa, Asia and Europe aim at favoring his country. He promised an address to the nation in a few hours. Venezuela, he said, “is now at the right place”

Venezuela has taken a "place of dignity in the current world, in the newborn world, the multipolar world. The world has changed; it is no longer the world we had ten years ago. In that multipolar world …, the Venezuelan fatherland, the Venezuelan people, the Venezuelan revolution has started to play a fundamental role which has been recognized throughout the planet."

President Hugo Chávez made these remarks in a speech that lasted a few minutes and was aired by the state-run network Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

Upon his arrival on Sunday at the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, President Chávez said that the 11-day tour, which included seven countries, allowed the Venezuelan delegation to sign "69 agreements with sister nations that will benefit the Venezuelan people in areas such as housing, trade, energy, science and technology."

President Chávez will report on Monday afternoon on the achievements of the presidential tour.
