I'm still trying to catch up on posts since I was away but have a couple points to make. From my view point nothing has changed despite all the media reports that are more opinion than fact. As Turtlefoam pointed out the only real mention of LC was this quote: Russia and Venezuela agreed to set up a joint state bank, and Chavez said Russia will help Venezuela "start to exploit one of the biggest gold mines in the world," the Las Cristinas mine. As already pointed out, the Las Cristinas part was added to the story and not part of the quote. So what we really have is a statement saying the Russians will help VZ through a joint bank to start exploiting one of the biggest gold mines in the world. This can be done many ways and mean more than just LC since we already know VZ considers that whole area as LC including the Brisas area. Will the money be used for infrastructure projects like roads, railways, electricity, housing, staffing of the hospital we built or many other things needed so that mining can start? Will the money be used to buy equipment that is needed for the projects that VZ is doing a JV with RML (RML has already said in the past VZ is responsible for their own share of costs in the JV)? Will the money be used to settle outstanding claims from the miners and setting up the small mining co-ops? Will the money be used to settle the arbitration claim for GRZ? I could go on and on with possible scenarios that have nothing to do with Kry directly. I could also come up with scenarios that would destroy Kry. The point I want to make is that nothing has changed as far as I'm concerned. We are still waiting for VZ to pony up the permit and do the transfer of the MOC. The rest of the crap being printed in the media is just speculation until something official is released. When I spoke to Fung before all this stuff hit the fan he specifically mentioned not to believe everything I read. I doubt he knew this was coming but until I hear something official from KRY I will continue to believe they are on top of everything. People can chose to get caught in trying to decipher every piece of press out there or take a hard look at who is publishing the stories. Forget about Roy and his rag. Forget about political papers in VZ. We already know how corrupt VZ is so why would we expect the reporting to be any different. As I mentioned before, we will have to hear something either in the 3rd quarter report or in a separate PR before then. I've waited a long time so another 3 weeks won't kill me.
