Venezuela prosecutes man with Chavez-insulting T-shirt
2010-11-13 09:45 A man will face trial for wearing a T-shirt with an insult to President Hugo Chavez, local media reported yesterday.
“Hugo, I s**t on your revolution,” was the message printed on a bright yellow T-shirt, Miguel Hernandez Souquett wore in February at a baseball game in Isla Margarita.
The 49-year-old was promptly arrested after the game and charged with “insulting a government leader”. He has been in and out of courtrooms ever since.
He told Venezuelan media that on Monday he received notice he will stand trial on December 1 in a criminal court in Nueva Esparta state, which includes Isla Margarita.
