It is now, and has forever been in the hands of a capricious dictator who has no interests at heart other than his own. As the months roll on, various political expediencies bubble up to the top of the political sludge-pot that is Vennie. These put our friend Hugo FY in positions to variously damn and praise the potential development of LC, without ever actually doing anything about it.

To this point in time, Hugo FY has generally honoured the international arbitration system. However, there is no rule that would prevent him from becoming yet another pariah on this planet's trash heap. He will always choose self-inerests over the interests of the millions who grovel in the dirt in Vennie. Think North Korea; Somalia; Zimbabwe; etc., etc. Never a quarter given to the long-suffering denizens of their fiefdoms.

We bob along like a cork, hoping to wash up in the one safe port on the other side of the ocean, before we get waterlogged, and vanish into the netherworld, without so much as a ripple.
