many brothers and sisters have fallen over the years

We are drinking beer at noon on Friday
In a bar that faces a giant car wash next to the Stock Exchange in Caracas
The good investors of the world are washing their shiny cars
On their lunch break, hosing and scrubbing
As best they can in skirts in suits
They drive their shiny Datsuns and Buicks
Back to the phone company, the record store too
Well, they're nothing like Stevie and me, cause

Checking her stocks and options and then she lingers
Before cursing and locking herself out
And she's watching the stocks and options as they spin to the floor
And a happy couple enters the bar -- i think its some old fool and the hoov
"There has been a halt.... at 1:59... awaiting news" they scream
The drunk stockbroker looks up from his want ads

Otherwise the bar is ours,

The lap tops, the stocks and the options too and the clean and dirty cars
The Caracas sun and the moon but
