Crystallex already had accused them (2004) of numerous losses when preventing the free route to the transport to workers and loaded trucks of auriferous material.
the company obtained enormous amounts of gold with machines and not by artisan route, with miners.
So where do these statements come from?
1. Total lies
2. Distortions....the trucks were carrying dirt and supplies to build the camp, fix the road, etc.
3. The Vz. National Guard (or other "official" state entity) was carrying out a corrupt mining operation on Las Crstinas and KRY had no alternative but to turn a blind eye.
No....I don't think KRY had anything to do with "illegal mining"....but I do wonder about possible involvement of Venezuelan "authorities". 6 years in jail for closing a road? C'mon people....this is what people DO in Venezuela...they close roads. That is a national past time for crimminy's sake. Of course, Crystallex takes the blame as usual. Perhaps it is safer to blame Crystallex than the "authorities"?
