I must say, that is the most beleivable report I've read, and I don't doubt that Chavez will not be with us well before the next election.

It will very very intersting how Cuba will fit into it all, as Chavez has them inbedded not only in the military, but likely in other places where they could have an influence. There could be a clash within the military, as Cuban and hardline Generals try to keep an honest election from happening. They may very well say that they have to put off the election if Chavez dies close to October 14th, saying that they need to give more time for the ruling part to pick another candidate.

I wouldn't be surprised if there is already a plan in place to sabatoge the election. There also may be a huge popular uprising, if the military gets heavy handed.
