About 42 pounds of gold stolen from Venezuelan mining company

A group of 15 gunmen Sunday night broke into a plant of state-run mining company CVG Minerven in the town of El Callao. They subdued 35 workers who were in the plant and stole 10 electrolytic cathodes to purify the gold produced by the Venezuelan gold mining industry.
Julio César Fuentes Manzulli, the commander of the police in the state of Bolívar, southeastern Venezuela, confirmed the robbery. He told El Universal daily newspaper that the cells contain some 42 pounds of gold.
Local enforcement authorities initiated the investigations. They presume that the criminals are still in the state of Bolívar, south Venezuela.
On October 17, a group formed by 15 gunmen stole 13 pounds of gold from another Venezuelan plant.
