Chavez blows off Exxon: will he do the same to us?

I wouldn't worry about whether or not Chavez will blow off KRY. He's already done so 500 million times over.

A more immediate concern is whether or not KRY can survive into arbitration and whether or not common shareholders will be left with anything if, indeed, the refinancing actually occurs.

I still feel our greatest chances of getting any money out of Venezuela will greatly improve only if Chavez dies, or better yet, doesn't get re-elected.

But I'm beginning to suspect his whole cancer treatment was a scam to get him re-elected by an ignorant electorate who sees him as an invincible lion.

Time will tell.

And so we wait.
