"The United States Supreme Court rejected the request introduced by the Government avocamiento national Bandagro case.
This determination allows the State Skye Ventures sue in U.S. courts for non-payment of bonds issued by the now defunct Agricultural Development Bank (Bandagro) in 1981.
In September 2010 the Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, United States, federal courts ruled that the United States have jurisdiction and jurisdiction to decide whether the Republic should pay the bonds.
With an appeal to the Supreme Court tried the Venezuelan government that this opinion will be terminated.. No clutch, now the Venezuelan government may have to cancel the company two notes Skye Ventures dollars for a nominal value of 100 million dollars, plus 800 million in interest."
Chavez likely had nothing to do with this 22 years ago but nevertheless it is an example of the persistence of international investment laws that, "You can run but you can't hide" when you break agreements. Eventually there is a conclusion in all the filed cases. Especially when dealing with a country that has global assets and that have its economic resources in oil as in Vz, they will have to pay.
My wish is that we never give up and can last, until our case is before the courts. When that event takes place we will win and win big time. Just hope Fung has a way to keep this going. Bondholders would love to take us over and wait it out because in the end is a very big payday. Bondholders can be very patient. $800M in interest??? on $100M investment? I can wait too.
I can wait 2-3 years or more. Our time will come.
