CARACAS, Oct. 13 (Xinhua) -- Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez reshuffled his cabinet on Saturday and made the new ministerial picks known via Tweeter days after winning a reelection.

He named Nestor Reverol as the new interior minister. Reverol replaced Tareck Aissami, who was to run for gubernatorial election in the north-central state of Aragua in December.

Journalist Ernesto Villegas will be the minister of communications, Aloha Nunez the minister for Indian affairs, and Cristobal Francisco the environment minister.

Carmen Melendez, the first woman admiral in Venezuela, will head the newly-established Office of Presidency and Government Oversight. She succeeded Erika Farias, who was nominated by the ruling United Socialist Party for gubernatorial race in the western Cojedes state.

"Efficiency or nothing!" Chavez wrote on his Tweeter account.

On Wednesday, Chavez named Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro as vice president. Maduro, born on Nov. 23, 1962 in Caracas, has been the country's top diplomat since 2006.

Chavez, 58, defeated his opposition challenger Henrique Capriles by an 11-percentage points in Sunday's elections, giving him a third six-year term to continue what he called the "21st-century Socialism."
