Friends,

Thank-you for your concern and the numerous PMs yesterday. I was not running the race, but had friends that were and many friends and family in the crowd. Fortunately they are all physically fine. After this horrific tragedy and the one that occurred a few miles away from my home in Newtown, I am reminded yet again of the need for each of us to validate the ones we love on a daily basis. We simply never know when someone will be taken swiftly and senselessly out of our lives.

Boston and her people are strong and resilient. This brutal act of terrorism, symbolically carried out on Patriot's Day will not rob this community, state and nation of our freedom. We will not live our lives in fear or hatred.

Today my thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured and killed and their families. I hope Barry/Nomar is okay.
