Why do you guys believe Venezuela will "settle" (i.e. voluntarily pay money without be ordered to do so) any of the 26 pending arbitrations? It is my understanding that they have only settled one or two ICSID arbitrations in recent history. I believe those were Ternium and Cemex. They have now won their case against Vannessa and yesterday, they apparently won against Opic Karimun on jurisdictional grounds. I suspect they will probably attempt to further justify continued resistance to settlement with these wins.
I believe Venezuela will ultimately have to pay KRY's claim, but I don't believe they'll ever do it voluntarily. Hope I'm wrong.
