E n the days and weeks leading journalistic TV documentary showing the reality of illegal mining in the southern part of our Bolivar state, the social drama of survival of thousands of miners, the terrible depredations of the environment, control of territory part of gangs and heavily armed groups impose their law, open government corruption and the state does not exercise effective government, but "let do", has caused quite a stir not only in Venezuela but in the world, at least in the Spanish speakers. It is the fifth chapter in a series of six (episodes in Peru, Colombia, etc) called Amazon Clandestino, performed with great courage by the Spanish journalist David Beriain for an international Discovery Channel Max.

For a few days was seen on You Tube and tell me that was broadcast on the channel Spain Antena 3. In several independent news online portals they have reviewed and commented -I saw him in Effect Cocuyo- though of course in the state media , government and controlled gobierneros, no censorship and silence. The usual: bla bla lot of "homeland and sovereignty" but censorship all over everything that shows the reality of a country where at least there is no sense of national sovereignty homeland by a ruling political class dedicated solely to preserve the absolutist power at all costs and protecting the gigantic corruption. Anyway.

The documentary-report is based on the area of the famous Las Cristinas mine but also in El Callao. It is necessary to remember some details: The Las Cristinas, one of the largest in the world with over 30 million ounces of gold in proven reserves mine, give this government in September 2002 in concession to the Canadian transnational Crystallex. In the book "Guayana: the miracle backwards" show copy of the contract signed today by the governor and then president of CVG with approval from the Ministry of Mines and the then President Chavez. The contract says that the maximum period of two years should be fully productive or be terminated. The works were never made nor was there an ounce of gold. The government never gave environmental permits. Transnational, however, won a lot of money because having in its portfolio of assets granting Las Cristinas, its shares soared on the stock exchanges.

Towards the end of 2010 , eight years later, the government took away the contract. Chavez announced (RIP) from Belarus on 18/10/10: "... that mine is Venezuelan and had delivered (sic, again'la had delivered ') to a transnational but I notice that recovered the revolutionary government because those resources are for Venezuelans, not transnational ". He said "they had delivered" as if to believe it was another government. About two years later, the "revolutionary" government signed a contract to deliver "Las Cristinas" transnational China Citic Group has not yet taken over or began operating, perhaps waiting for the end of litigation in international courts the demands of Crystallex and Gold Reserve. Or who knows why.

With regard to illegal mining and control by armed groups to the "laissez-faire" state, the then Interior Minister Gen. Rodriguez Torres said on January 24 last year in Ciudad Bolívar as follows: "In the state Bolivar there are criminal gangs who do what they want (...) unions say and using dusters of one color and using guns extort not only businessmen but workers (...) is not alone in the industry construction but in other areas of the economy and the region. " Not an opposition MP said. Affirmed the then powerful warlord and Minister Rodríguez Torres. As shown today in the documentary Spanish journalist, nothing was done in the months since the government, except follow "leaving do." Never had less country than today.
