05 de agosto de 2016, 15:13Caracas, Aug 5 (Prensa Latina) Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said today that the new agreements and decrees that were signed to develop the Orinoco Mining Arch are part of the most ambitious plan of that kind in the history of Venezuela.
Thanks to the agreements signed with international companies, USD 4.500 million will be invested during 2016 and 2017 in order to promote the growth of the mining industry included in the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, Maduro said.
According to President Maduro, 60 percent of the profits obtained by the Venezuelan State in the Mining Arch will be allocated to the social programs that for 17 years have benefited the majority of the population.
The development plans are based on a deeply sovereign, ecologist policy that seeks a comprehensive development, Maduro added. In addition, they have the support, cooperation and enthusiasm of the indigenous communities in that area.
Maduro also noted that everything is in place to ensure safety in the area and then called on Venezuelans to join in order to seek the one goal: economic development.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Defense Vladimir Padrino announced the creation of a special unit that will protect the Orinoco Mining Arch.
The mining sector is one of the 15 key factors included in the Bolivarian Economic Agenda, which was designed to overcome the oil profiteering.
At the Orinoco Mining Arch, state of Bolivar, is located a National Strategic Development Zone that seeks to diversify the economy and overcome the difficult economic situation that the country is facing as a result of the low prices of crude. |
