Caracas.- The Canadian mining company Crystallex has suspended the appeal filed against the Republic of Venezuela before the Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit of the United States in the state of Delaware, according to sources in the firm. This is part of the processes that are advanced as a result of the dispute between the Venezuelan State and this company, for the expropriation of the Las Cristinas gold mine in 2008.

  The purpose of suspending the legal remedy is "to give Venezuela enough time to successfully implement the initial terms of the settlement agreement," it was pointed out.

The source described the negotiation process as long, complex and hard to the point that neither party achieved what they requested, but "the result was good enough to make them feel at least satisfied."
