update:
I reached out once again to attorney David Cohen at Gowling in Toronto. He was the POC when there was a Shareholders' Committee. I advised him that Court records indicate that one of his firm's partners is now consulting on the KRY case, so Gowling is clearly back in the game, just not helping the shareholders this time around. An excerpt of his reply is as follows:
"Gowling does not act for the Shareholder Committee any longer. I do not follow the case any longer and am not aware of anything regarding the US process. I am also unaware of Pirinate Consulting Group LLC."
"(I) suspect you are referencing the online shareholders forums that are at the best of times unreliable sources of information. We also do not comment on rumours or conversations on-line from undisclosed sources. If someone has a concern and wishes to disclose full verifiable details of who they are and what their interests in the matter are along with details (evidence) of their concern I would consider reviewing the matter."
I'll leave it to any of you to follow-up if you wish (probably just another waste of shareholders' time). He made it clear that our conversation has ended.
