The Government of Honduras announced on Friday that the presidents of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, of Bolivia, Evo Morales, and of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, will attend on next Monday in Tegucigalpa to the signing of the adhesion of this country to the Bolivarian Alternative for the Americas ( Alba).

"Are coming the presidents who make up the Alba, we have already confirmed three of them", which are Chavez, Morales and Ortega, as told to the press the adviser to the Honduran president, Manuel Zelaya, Marco Antonio Rosa.

The Alba is an initiative of the Venezuelan government, launched in 2004 as an alternative to the Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA), promoted by the United States, of which make part Bolivia, Cuba, Dominica, Nicaragua, Venezuela and now Honduras.

Will also attend the act the Vice President of Cuba, Carlos Lage, whose presence was confirmed on Thursday by the Cuban ambassador in Tegucigalpa, Juan Carlos Hernandez.

The admission ceremony will take place amid a controversy created by entrepreneurs and politicians from the opposition, and even from the support base of Zelaya (Social Democrat) to the signing of the agreement, those who have made a strong media campaign against the government's identification with the socialist policies of the other members of Alba.
