Caracas, Oct 16 ABN.- According to a high percentage of the Venezuelan population, the performance of the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Hugo Chávez, in the country's administration is positive, as it is shown by a poll carried out by the Venezuelan Institute of Data Analysis (IVAD, Spanish abbreviation), since September 28th up to October 10th 2008.
Regarding the people's opinion towards president Chávez development, the poll resulted in that 74.8% of Venezuelans described it as good, while a small group represented in 23.5% described it as bad.
Another question shown in this consultation concerned with the electoral expectation: If the presidential elections took place today, would you vote in favor or against Hugo Chávez? Out of the polled population, 51.4% expressed that they would vote in favor, while 32.2% would vote against him.
Regarding the elections to elect governors and majors, the question focused in For whom would you vote this November 23rd? and the answer was 34.9% for a pro Chávez candidate; 22.81% of them would vote for a representative of the opposition; 7.3% of the polled population indicated that they would not vote for any of them; 5.1% expressed that it would all depend on the candidate; and, finally, 7.9% did not know or did not answer.
Another question referred to which of the electoral campaigns they liked the most, in which 48.7% of Venezuelans chose the pro government campaign; 27.3% prefers the opposition campaign; and a sector represented in 24.1% did not know or did not answered.
The issue of political affiliation and preferences for one or another political leaning was also taken over in this consultation. Regarding the question To which political party are you identified with, it is to say, that you are member or support it? The answer was 33.8% chose the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV); 34.8% decided on no party; and the remaining 31.4% expressed to confide in others.
Concerning the role played by the opposition, 39.1% considered it as bad, while 19.2% described it as good.
Furthermore, before the question How would you define yourself, as a person identified with President Chávez or with a representative of the opposition? 43.6% of the polled population answered in favor of the President, while 16.3% said that they would choose a candidate of the opposition. |
