VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 5, 2013) - Mr. Ian Rozier, President and CEO of Eastern Platinum Limited ("Eastplats" or the "Company") (TSX:ELR)(AIM:ELR)(JSE:EPS), reports that mining operations at the Zandfontein Section of the Crocodile River Mine ("CRM") have been suspended following a fatal accident at the mine.

Mr. Allan Swartz, a shift supervisor, was fatally injured after falling down an empty ore pass. A Section 54 Stop Work Order has been issued by the Development of Mineral Resources ("DMR") and mining operations at Zandfontein have been stopped pending a full investigation by the DMR Inspector of Mines.
